Paris Ceramics has been antiquing and distressing limestone floors since the early 1980s. We were pioneers in developing the craft of making new stone floors look timeworn and historic, particularly for projects where genuine antique floors were not suitable or available.
From Antiqued Dalle de Provence inspired by the rare Blonde Barr, to Dished and Distressed Limestone hand-finished with an authentic patina, and Antiqued Jerusalem Stone that echoes centuries of architectural history, our collection offers surfaces that capture the soul of the past while delivering the practicality and versatility of newly quarried stone.
Antiquing and Distressing New Stone
These aged finishes combine authenticity with flexibility, allowing us to create floors in squares, rectangles, hexagons, octagons and bespoke formats.
The result is a range that bridges tradition and modernity - surfaces that look as though they have always been there, yet are crafted for today’s interiors and exteriors.

Aged Stone Floors with Greater Control
As aged limestone floors, these surfaces offer a compelling alternative to both newly finished stone and genuine reclaimed material. They are particularly useful when a project requires the atmosphere of an old floor, but also needs more control over size, availability, thickness, format or technical performance.
The character comes from the finishing process. Edges may be softened, surfaces gently distressed, and tones worked to create depth rather than flatness.
Restraint, Patina and Surface Depth
The aim is not to fake age crudely, but to understand how time affects stone and then apply that knowledge with restraint.
Aged stone floors can feel rustic, monastic, classical or quietly contemporary depending on the limestone, finish and laying pattern. Large flags create calm and permanence, while smaller formats, hexagons or octagons can bring more rhythm and decorative structure.

Distressed Limestone Floors for Interiors and Exteriors
Paris Ceramics’ aged limestone floors are selected and finished for interiors and exteriors where material character matters.
They bring the visual comfort of timeworn stone with the practical advantages of newly prepared material: a balance of patina, proportion, durability and architectural ease.
