Sun and Moon Mosaic

Mosaics are one of the most versatile of media, suitable for both halls and floors - where borders can be used to striking effect in outlining or creating architectural definitions.

Special mosaic designs are available to order. The design process begins with a preliminary briefing from the client establishing the context for the work, possible design references and the budget. Full colour drawings are then produced for the client's approval prior to commencement of the project.

More about Mosaics:

Mosaics have visual appeal on many levels. Their detailed composition fascinates the eye in close-up, however when viewed overall, they present an almost three-dimensional picture.

Paris Ceramics mosaics are built up from tiny pieces (tesserae) of stone and marble, using only naturally occurring colours. This has few limitations, for they vary from deepest lapis blue/green to terracottas, purple, crystal white and a spectrum of neutrals. In order to achieve the greatest possible definition, each piece is hand cut, rather than sawn, on all four sides.

For 3000 years, nomads, traders, armies, and pilgrims have traveled the Silk Road, thousands of miles of routes that connect Europe to India to China and Japan exchanging not simply silk and other luxuries but philosophical and artistic influences, the very highest visions of what a civilization could be. It is no exaggeration to say that the Silk Road laid the foundations for modernity as we know it . Traveling the same route and blending our own ideas of modern taste with both the indigenous materials of Eurasia and design elements from many traditions has created our Silk Road range, a collection that brings us home, distilling our own pilgrim ages into steps on the path of our design odyssey. more..
